We have had another exciting December – which by now is
nearly gone! But every day was amazing! After the Christmas tree lighting
ceremony on Dec. 1, we were happy to have many more opportunities to meet with
old and new friends to share in the wonderful experiences that this season
brings!

At the Chinese church, there is always a baptism for special
holidays. This Christmas we had another friend give his testimony to the LORD’s
grace and mercy. We met Jack last summer and see him most Sundays and Tuesdays.
It was a blessing to celebrate his baptism day (nearly 100 brothers and sisters
were baptized during the same ceremony. PTL!) It was extra special because that
night we had a hot pot dinner with our study friends – all of whom had been
baptized in the last year and whom had met each other in Beijing at Haidian Church.
We see Father God’s hand always in everything. We are excited to watch Father
God extend the outreach of our brothers and sisters and encourage them in their
adventures of sharing the Good News and following His plan for their life.

Our International Fellowship also held special Christmas
program to share with the people! It is the third year that the program has
been held and this year they were asked to offer it on two days, as it is so popular. We went with friends on Friday and several other friends went on Saturday. It was the first time that some of them learned about the true meaning of Christmas and the gift Father God has given us. It was a very meaningful time.

Our friend Jan and his sister Jaime performed again this
year with the Yi Ling Gospel Choir. We traveled nearly 2 hours across the city
to another Christian church to watch the interesting performance. Zona joined
us for the day’s activities and we enjoyed spending the time with her as we
traveled by subway, bus and finally, on foot to the church. We got to sit with
Ling, Jan’s wife, and enjoy the 2-hour performance given to the standing-room
only crowd. That evening we were blessed to eat dinner with Zona and her
husband, Mark, who we haven’t seen since we arrived back in Beijing, as his
work and school schedule (for his master’s) keep him occupied every day of the
week!
We spent the past week in Qinghai (northwest China)
evaluating and training the 100 English teachers who are participating in the
current 2-year 15 Teacher Attribute program. It was our second visit this year
and we really were blessed to spend the Christmas season with them. We will
share more about that trip next time! Merry Christmas and we praise Father God
for the gift of His Son.
