holy celebrations

We had a very special Easter week celebration. Praise Him! We crafted crystal crosses together with our English study group and then had a family dinner on Sunday night. We were blessed to see so many of our friends and family join the dinner celebration – we had more than 30 people, and PTL, there were plenty of tacos, egg & sausage casserole as well as the traditional deviled eggs, salad and fruit. Lots of conversation and questions about the meaning of Easter – for most it was their very first time to celebrate this earth-changing event. It was neat to see our friends share their stories with each other and build each other up!

We had fun planning, buying and cooking alongside a number of good friends who chipped in to help. It took more than 5 trips to the grocery store and two trips to the alley – by Preston – to secure all the needed items! We also enjoyed hanging out with our fellowship at BICF Sunday morning for a study on Galatians 3:26-4:7. It took us through the announcement of Christ to our being adopted as children. Finally, we learned about the unity of people as the “abyss has been closed” and we are brothers and sisters no longer separated by differences but strengthened by diversity. We also were witnesses to five baptisms; three of them were children of our good friends from the fellowship. Their testimonies were sweet and inspirational and we look forward to watching them continue to mature in their faith and seek out God’s plan for their teenage and adult lives. It has been a fantastic holy week!

Dude. Check this out. Biking to the Giants game along the Embarcadero with my two older sons and my baby brother we ran into Elvis Costello! Took several photos and everything. The kicker: my brother was wearing an Elvis Costello t-shirt! Plus: we went to see him at the warfield that very night...THEN ran into Tommy Angel outside the show afterward. Repaired to a Tenderloin bar and much hilarity ensued. We're both fat. In closing, I come to you beyond belief...
